On offshore platforms and ships, we ensure the entire onboard power supply and thus also the operation of the vessel. This applies to all critical components, including the engine and propulsion system – e.g., through UPS systems for emergency diesel generators.
Especially in the onshore and offshore industries, all components must be perfectly coordinated to ensure the highest level of reliability for consumers. The high availability provided by the redundant dual system with diode coupling has already been implemented in numerous diverse applications and has proven its worth under challenging conditions. We achieve a further increase in operational reliability through the use of a boost converter, which guarantees a constant voltage supply.
This also means that any disturbances, such as DC-side undervoltage, are controlled. Likewise, overvoltages are dampened and selectivity (timely tripping of the fuses) is taken into account.
