IMB Energy Systems, headquartered in Roth near Nuremberg, was founded in 1989 and has established a national and international reputation in the fields of secure power supplies, UPS systems, and AC and DC auxiliary power generation. In Roth, near Nuremberg, the company's approximately 10,000 m² facility houses development, production, testing, warehousing, offices, and a showroom with demonstration-ready prototypes, where our training courses are also held. The company also maintains a sales and service center in Stemwede, North Rhine-Westphalia.

In addition to standard low-voltage distribution boards (e.g., Vamocon, Siemens Sivacon, Alpha 3200, Rittal, ABB Pro E Power, Lögstrup, Jean Müller Labeo, or Striebel & John), IMB Energy Systems also designs and manufactures specially tested AC systems (SIMBAC) tailored to your specific needs, as well as custom sub-distribution boards and special panels. Network analysis, installation, and maintenance of the systems are also included in their services.

In the field of power distribution, we offer a complete range of solutions, from standard systems to customized, individual designs using our own systems. For low-voltage main distribution boards (LVMDs), we offer comprehensive equipment options for main busbars up to 6300 A and an Icu of up to 100 kA. Our portfolio also includes tailored solutions such as arc fault protection and switchgear assemblies in fully withdrawable design (MCC). Circuit breakers are available in fixed, plug-in, and withdrawable versions. Our TN-C, TN-CS, TN-S, TT, and IT busbar-based network systems are field-tested and proven. They can be installed modularly or conventionally in clearly designed functional areas, from Form 1 to Form 4b. Upon request, we also implement customized solutions with busbars, crossovers (bridges), corner sections, and special sections such as transformer connection boxes, emergency power supply connection boxes, and conventional sub-distribution boards, installation distribution boards, control cell distribution boards, or rack distribution boards.

In addition to network analysis, we are happy to support you with the regular maintenance and testing of your systems and circuit breakers. This is mandatory every four years for low-voltage installations according to BGV A3.

Die Batterie ist nicht nur ein optimaler Energiespeicher, der die Versorgung der Verbraucher bei Netzausfall übernimmt, sondern sie hilft auch beim schnellen Auslösen der Sicherungen.

Ebenso übernimmt sie Dämpfungseigenschaften, jedoch hat sie einen erheblichen Nachteil:  Der Spannungsverlauf (vom ungeladenen Zustand von z.B. 1,8 V/Zelle Endladeschlussspannung bis zur Starkladespannung 2,35 V/Zelle, z.B. bei Bleibatterien) kann bei vielen Verbrauchern Schäden oder Funktionsstörungen hervorrufen. Eine erhöhte Spannung im Normalbetrieb kann die Lebenserwartung der Verbraucher erheblich reduzieren oder sie sogar zerstören. Eine Unterspannung kann zu Fehlfunktionen führen. Speziell hierfür wurde der Hochsetzsteller (Umrichter) entwickelt, der die Verbraucherspannung von 1,75 V/Zelle (1,0 V bei NiCd) auf 2,25 V/Zelle (1,42 V bei NiCd) konstant hält. Dieser ist für DC 24V / 48V / 60V / 110V und 220V oder auf spezifische Kundenanforderungen ausgelegt.

Custom-made modular or compact monitoring devices for all key components of the secure power supply system continuously signal the operating status of the equipment. Clear and self-explanatory pictograms simplify system operation.

Regardless of the monitoring capabilities of the devices, the entire system is monitored by a central monitoring unit, for example, by a

Static inverters serve as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to bridge short-term interruptions, power outages, and voltage or frequency fluctuations. Inverters reliably supply AC loads, primarily in industrial and railway sectors. This makes them an ideal preventative measure against power disturbances in data processing, automation, and control technology.

The maximum available inverter output is 500 kVA (3~) or 200 kVA (1~). Inverter plug-in modules are available for lower outputs.

Die Serie PS-D ist bereits für den Parallel- oder Redundanzbetrieb ausgelegt und lässt sich durch zusätzliche elektrische Optionen individuell an ihre Anforderungen anpassen. Die mechanischen Ausführungen sind auf die unterschiedlichsten Bedürfnisse und Schutzarten abgestimmt. Die Module sind als 19″-Einschub oder Aufbaugehäuse für Montageplattenbefestigung erhältlich, der Aufbau der Systeme hingegen erfolgt meistens im Schrank- oder Wandgehäuse.

Besonderheiten der Systeme

Generell sollten bei dem Einsatz von getakteten Stromversorgungen ein paar sicherheitsrelevante Parameter, wie z.B. die sekundäre Absicherung, berücksichtigt werden. Gerne lassen wir Sie an unseren Erfahrungen teilhaben und geben Tipps zu selektiven Staffelungen, Leitungsquerschnitten etc. oder konzipieren nach Ihrem Anforderungsprofil. Gerade im Zusammenhang mit 24V-, 48V- oder 60V- Batterie-Ersatzanlagen sind in unserem Hause bereits über viele Jahre zahlreiche Systeme entstanden.

  • Kondensatorbank und/oder Bypass für DC/DC-Wandlersysteme
    Gerade die sichere Auslösung von Sicherungselementen bereitet aufgrund der begrenzten Ausgangsleistung der DC/DC-Wandler erhebliche Schwierigkeiten – diesem Problem begegnet man meist mit einer Kondensatorbank. Die dort eingesetzten Elektrolytkondensatoren trocknen jedoch mit der Zeit aus, wodurch die Sicherungsauslösung nach einigen Jahren nicht mehr gewährleistet werden kann. Hierfür haben wir ein System (Bypass) entwickelt, mit dem wir die Kurzschlussenergie der übergeordneten Batterie nutzen.

The optimal battery type for your needs depends on your individual operating and environmental conditions. We offer manufacturer-independent advice on the design and selection of battery types, tailored to your specific requirements and tasks.

In addition to classic lead-acid and Ni-Cd batteries, we can also offer you new battery technologies such as lithium-ion or redox flow batteries.   realize.

Battery racks: Depending on the room and location, insulated battery racks and acid trays in a wide variety of designs are used.

Battery cabinets: The battery cabinets are individually tailored to battery type, space requirements and safety criteria.

Battery distribution unit (BV): The battery distribution unit enables low-inductance wiring of the DC system. The size and design of the BV depend on the short-circuit current and load current, e.g.: BV 0 (160A), BV 1 (250A).

We operate independently of manufacturers and, in addition to supplying the battery system, also offer, if required , dismantling and disposal including backup batteries, as well as the installation of a conductive floor and the installation of the battery system. Maintenance, capacity testing , and floor leakage resistance measurement are also available upon request.

Fuel cell systems


Fuel cells can also be used for reconversion to electricity in a wide variety of applications. When selecting, designing, and planning a fuel cell power supply in conjunction with battery systems, factors such as environmental friendliness, flexibility (power increase), maintenance costs, and operational reliability must be considered.

Redox flow storage


Redox flow batteries utilize liquid storage media for energy storage (vanadium-ion batteries). This eliminates crucial aging mechanisms, enabling more than 15,000 charge and discharge cycles. With minimal maintenance, redox flow batteries have a lifespan of approximately 20 years. Their low environmental impact, high safety (explosion-proof and non-flammable), and reduced complexity and costs make this storage technology an attractive option.

Lithium-ion storage


Lithium-ion batteries generate their electromotive force through the movement of lithium ions. During charging, positively charged lithium ions migrate through an electrolyte from the positive to the negative electrode, while the charging current supplies electrons via the external circuit. The advantages of these energy storage devices include high energy density, no memory effect, and low self-discharge. However, improper handling poses a fire hazard.
